One of nine weapon armament specialist, Mr "M" shows off the world famous "Chicago Typewriter" the Thompson .45acp sub-machine gun. This weapon is actually still on the books at the training center and the Bureau officially has two ammo drums for this weapon. Thus one belongs to the Bureau and the other belong to Mr "M". Its should be noted that the weapon is all original

Despite being on of the safest place on Earth, the Bureau employs and maintains a 24/ 7, 365 day a year active Police force that oversees the safety of the facility
Marine Corp Base Quantico / Quantico, Virginia March 19th-20th, 2013: "The Cross Road of the Marine Corp" That is the official title of the 60,000 plus acre Marine Corp, base located in Quantico, Virginia of which a small portion of the base is allocated to house the Federal Bureau of Investigation Training Center, known as "FBI Quantico". As a supporter of the Bureau, Experience Shooting Solutions (ES2) Founder had the privilege of visiting the facility and getting a first hand experience of what the training center is all about. The first place that was observed at the center was the "FBI Gun Vault" which was amazing to see and to speak to key individuals who manage that section of the training center.
(ES2) learned first hand that the Bureau is to phase out their H&K 10mm sub-machine guns and replace them with M-4 variants chambered in .40 SW produced by Rock River Arms.
Also learned during the visit was that when a new Special Agent graduates from the academy, he or she is issued their personal side arm of which currently is the Glock 23. The weapon unless their is a Bureau wide personal sidearm change during the agents career, that specific sidearm shall remains with the agent until their retirement of which then the weapon is turned in and its destroyed by the Bureau. The weapon facility at Quantico technically and operationally support the weapons and armament needs of the entire Bureau.
One amazing thing that was observed was seeing J. Edgar Hoover personal sidearm a Colt Police Model 11 chambered in .38 special. It should be noted that when the Bureau was first established in 1908 it was known then as the "Bureau of Investigation" and the agents then were not armed. Sidearm for Bureau agents has come a long way since the early days. (ES2) Founder also toured the FBI Hostage Rescue Team (HRT-Team) section of the facility and toured the many HRT shoot-houses and ranges. In speaking to several HRT helicopter pilots they explained to (ES2) of their tactic known as Airborne Use of Force (AUF) and how they are able to blend the operational use of an air platform and the shooting skills of HRT Team Operators.
Experience Shooting Solutions (ES2) wishes to express their utmost respect and appreciation toward the Bureau for their time and for granting us a special, one of kind experience to tour their facility and to learn first hand of their amazing abilities to produce and train Special Agents who are mark of excellence within the world of Law Enforcement.
